Without any doubt, the cave paintings that can be found in the Gasulla gully and its surroundings are the most valuable historical heritage in the region. This area was designated World Heritage by UNESCO, together with all the cave paintings in the Levante region. In Ares In ares the Cova Remigia, with more than 750 figures in a good preservation, stands out. Its paintings were discovered by a shepherd at the beginning of the 20th century and nowadays they can be visited with a guide. The prevailing drawings are the hunting scenes, but there are also illustrations of goats, wild boars, bulls and deer in different attitudes; hurt by arrows, leaving pawprints, showing their horns, climbing up a rock and running or waiting.
The most impressive scene is a hurt bull that is chasing an archer or the character that runs and is wounded by some arrows. Other scenes show a couple having relations, scenes about initiation rites with and a very disturbing scene of the execution of a person by a group of archers.
